Education Department Manager: Leaha Kopp, MPH

Leaha received her undergrad from Oklahoma State University and her Master's in Public Health (Administration & Policy) from University of Oklahoma. She worked in non-profit program management for almost 18 years, with 14 of those as the executive director for Citizen CPR. During her years at Citizen CPR, she worked closely with American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA), and the Tulsa Fire Department in developing training programs for the public.  Leaha taught BLS here at OSUMC since 1999 on a PRN basis and began work as the Education Department Manager in July 2011.

Leaha teaches: BLS, First Aid and Safe Sitter.

Education Specialist: Terri Thames, BSN

Terri attended the University of Oklahoma and University of Maryland, where she received her Bachelor's of Nursing degree. After graduation, she served for 3 years as a Captain in the Army Nurse Corps where she worked in the areas of orthopedics, psych, med-surg and finally, Critical Care. Terri remained in ICU nursing for 22 years, with many of those years here at OSU Medical Center. She began working as an Education Specialist at OSU Medical Center in 2006, although she had been an educator within the hospital setting since 1986. She loves to teach with in-depth coverage of the topic at hand, while sharing her personal nursing experiences...some dramatic and funny and some embarrassing...but all shared to make a point.

Terri teaches: Rhythm ACLS, Basic Dysrhythmia, Rythm Review, 12 Lead EKG, and Hemodynamics for the Critical Care Nurse.

Education Specialist: Mary Waters, MS, RN

Mary began her career at OSU Medical Center 31 years ago as a nurse assistant. Upon graduation from nursing school, she worked for 2 years in geriatric nursing. Mary then worked for 18 years as a charge nurse in the Critical Care Unit. Since 2001, Mary accepted an Education Specialist position and earned her Master's Degree in Nursing Education. Mary enjoys teaching in a way that combines subject knowledge, practical application to make the material "real" for the students and always, always, always...a tad of humor.

Mary teaches: BLS, ACLS, and Conscious Sedation.

Education Administrative Assistant: Vivian Dugger

Vivian joined the department in February 2010 and brought 30+ years experience in executive assistance and administration. Vivian enjoys challenging herself and she is currently taking courses to enrich her own knowledge and position in this medical education environment. Vivian is a welcome addition to the department and she is pleased to be our first point of contact for Education Center students.
